Making The Best Of The Year

The New Year is a time for fresh starts and new beginnings, and it’s a great opportunity to set goals and make positive changes in our lives. But with so many things to think about and plan for, it can be easy to get overwhelmed and lose sight of what’s truly important. So, how can we make the most of the New Year and ensure that we’re setting ourselves up for success?

God is set to do a new thing in our relationship with Him, career, relationships, and business this year, however, it’s necessary to reflect on the past and set goals for the future if we must truly experience this new height. 

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11

God has our future figured out already, He is a master planner. He has a plan for our lives; even though things may be difficult at times, it is all for our good. This is a message of hope and encouragement, reminding us that we have a purpose and we can trust that He is in control.

The Bible is filled with wisdom and guidance on how to make the most of each new season. Here are a few verses and tips to help you start the New Year off on the right foot.

Set your priorities straight. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Before you make any resolutions or set any goals, make sure that your top priority is seeking God and His righteousness. When you put Him first, everything else will fall into place.

Let go of the past. In Isaiah 43:18-19, God says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” The past is gone, and it’s time to move forward. Don’t let past mistakes or regrets hold you back from reaching your full potential in the New Year.

Trust in God’s plan. In Proverbs 3:5-6, it says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Sometimes, things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. Trust that God has a plan for you and that He will guide you in the right direction.

Be kind and serve others. In Galatians 5:13-14, it says, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. The entire law is fulfilled by keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Make serving others a priority in the New Year. Whether it’s volunteering at a local charity or simply being kind to those around you, you can make a positive impact in the lives of others.

 Stay positive. In Philippians 4:8, it says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Let’s focus on the positive things in life and strive to have a positive attitude.

In conclusion, in this New Year, let’s make sure that our priorities are straight, let go of the past, trust in God’s plan, serve others, and stay positive. With God’s guidance and wisdom, we can make the most of this New Year and make it a successful one.
